The Somme is home to the graveyard of the ‘New Army’, and one of the most famous events of the 1st World War. The 3Rs will lead you around the area and provide the stories that more commercial tours miss. The main monuments will be visited – such as Thiepval, Newfoundland Wood, the Golden Virgin and Lochnagar crater. We also visit the human stories that are less well known – such as the Irish assault on the Schwaben Redoubt and the story behind some of Wilfred Owen’s poems. The 3Rs have many years of leading tours around this area; and the tour can be tailored to your own requirements. We plan the transport and the hotels for you – all you need is your imagination, your heart, and your enthusiasm.
